Well, first off, this is the second volume of season one, not the second season. The third volume of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, or as I acquire to call it GX, is the third volume of season one, not the third season. I believe some people were mixing up the volume number with the loyal season. So far, Cartoon Network has shown both the first and second seasons on their line-up and they’re currently airing the third season every Saturday. By the draw, each season has 52 episodes. I honest wanted to determined that up.

As for the episodes themselves, I personally believe most of the episodes in this volume are actually better than some of the other episodes later on in the season. I’ve seen the whole first season on Cartoon Network when they first aired it and the begining was stunning apt. The episodes and duels later on focus too mighty on the main character, Jaden, for my tastes and most everyone else doesn’t do distinguished of anything for a long time. The Price Team duel was a glorious pleasurable device to introduce Syrus’s issues with dueling and living up to what his brother has accomplished. Plus, he gets a nice bit of character development for a few episodes and that made me fine delighted because he’s my approved GX character.

Overall, a splendid gracious spot of episodes. Personally, the true second season episodes are noteworthy better and far more provocative than the episodes in the first season, but GX was impartial starting out then. Besides, if 4Kids is taking this long to place out the first season, who knows how long it will be before they’ll release the episodes for season two. I recommend this to those who have seen some episodes of GX before, or for those who honest want to relax for awhile by watching some okay to magnificent generous episodes of this series.

Whether you call him Zane or Ryo, this duelist is the best of the best. You know what, I fetch it: this volume is mainly about Jay and Sy (Judai and Sho to lovers of the Japanese), but I don’t care. Zane rules the school; immense time. Lovers of the Japanese version know Zane as “Kaiser,” or emperor in other words, and boy, does he live up to his name! Given his first moment of glory in this volume, the champ shows his stuff in a big-time match against our clueless but lucky hero, who challenged the stout man on campus in an attempt to raise the confidence of Zane’s tiny bro: Syrus! Too poor for Jay, the Kaiser proved to be Map to noteworthy for him to handle, and he gets flattened in a matter of three turns. One of the funniest parts of this was Sy’s announcement, “At least I got the looks,” which, by the plan, he did not. So if you’re looking for a duelist who can REALLY play the game, hold your watch out for Zane Truesdale, the king of Obelisk; not to mention the whole Academy!

I was very surprised to stare the fabulous newsreels of FDR in Warms Springs, Georgia using a wheel-chair and then swimming with young people who also had polio. On television, I had always seen the standard footage of FDR giving speeches. The film explains the gargantuan lengths FDR went through to improve his body control, so as not to be pitied or viewed as a cripple. After several years of tough times, FDR was ready to be president – as he knew he could be. Special thanks to Curtis Roosevelt, grandson, for his well-prepared remarks on the character of FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt.

Never has a more meaningful and informative document on this broad American president been assembled into one package. The 2-DVD recording probes the complexities of FDR’s heritage, youth and personal ambitions — as well as tragedies — in a diagram that rounds out his presidency. It also explores the role of Eleanor far beyond her role as FDR’s wife. His role in shaping our history even after his death is made crystal positive.

I beget the document is truly new. Having lived through that era, I found nevertheless that there were countless aspects to the man and his works that I had simply not been aware of. I bought the package after seeing it played elsewhere. It was a bargain. I interrogate to contemplate it many times again over the coming years.

The chronicle basically evolves through a galactic war among an elf-look-alike nation, called the Abhs, and humanity. Thing is that the first ones are human beings as well; they impartial altered their DNA and became something like a supreme human accelerate. Moreover, they are conquering the galaxy and as it becomes certain let us say, the “traditional” kind of humanity resists.

Apart from it, the improbable thing is that the record evolves around Lafiel and Jinto, the first is the daughter of an aristocrat and a princess at the same time, of the Abhs, and the second one is a human and a righteous man among the ranks of the Abhs. May sound confusing, but in the series it will become apparent that some human nations have also formed alliances with the Abhs and fight side by side with them.

Having watched the complete shows, meaning all the episodes from “Crest of the Stars” up to “Banner of the Starts II”, the viewer will definitely gather zigzag up with the note. As the episodes go on, the more attached he or she will become with the main protagonists, especially with the relationship between Lafiel and Jinto, that starts as a strong friendship and evolves to a… . Furthermore, the protagonists are caught up in the mists of war and have to do anything possible not honest to cease alive but also to protect each other… As for the ending, it surely answers all the questions that may be in the viewers mind and has a satisfying ending.

All this been said, I will definitely suggest the prove. But if you truly want to leer the explain, than you must explore it from the beginning, meaning to the “Crest of the Stars”, then “Banner of the Starts I” and lastly, “Banner of the Starts II”. The only shadowy thing is that in the demolish you will want more of these shows but I do not know if there will be anything fresh “out there”.

The only thing left to say is: Like them…

I recently saw Richard Curtis’ amazing ‘Love Actually’ and – having been bowled over once again by the bountiful silly talents of Bill Nighy and huge work of the sloe-eyed, laconic Alan Rickman – wondered where to turn next to appreciate the work of these two sparkling actors.

The answer: “Blow Dry.” Rickman and Nighy are amazing as long-time rival hairdresser competitors in this campy but touching yarn that tries very hard to score that fresh “Strictly Ballroom” feel and camp/pathos/triumph balance. It falls unprejudiced short of that, but it’s a valid treat nevertheless.

Unfortunately, judging from the irksome U.S. coverbox you’d never guess this was such a touching, well-written and intelligently droll movie with a *very* talented cast – Nighy, Rickman, Natasha Richardson (!), Rachel Griffiths (!!) . Now, that’s an honor roll. With all that going for it, why, why, why do we glean force-fed a marketing campaign featuring Josh Harnett and Rachael Leigh Cook? Harnett is quite obliging here, actually, pulling off a British accent with aplomb. But awful Cook is placed into a no-win area as the supposed Minneapolis-based daughter of hairdresser Nighy. It seems force-fed into the movie…she’s totally boxed in here and can’t fight her design out.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Blow Dry! Click Here

I ignored this movie for two years because of awful marketing. How many others are going to miss out for the same reason? I knew Nighy (possibly my well-liked actor) was interested, but felt like I was going to have to sit through a Harnett/Cook “She’s All That” clone. I had to have a friend shriek me otherwise. Turns out, nothing could be further from the truth. This is a colossal microscopic film you need to check out as soon as possible.

Two additional puny treats -

- Warren Clarke as The Mayor, who gets more and more showy and confident as the movie goes on (and actually shepards the film through its credits in a bit of solo showmanship) . Name ring a bell? How about ‘Dim’ in “A Clockwork Orange”? Wow! Also, he’s known in the UK most recently as Detective Andy Dalziel in the recurring TV series “Dalziel and Pascoe.”

Buy,Download, Or Stream Blow Dry! Click Here

- Heidi Klum, hiding leisurely pancake makeup and blonde dread wig as ‘Total Look’ muse ‘Jasmine.’ You wouldn’t consider it possible to turn Heidi Klum shrewish and unattractive, but ‘Blow Dry’ pulls it off.

This is a movie about a family divided, who are brought together at a crossroad in their lives by a hairdressing championship being held in their miniature town. The family, comprised of Alan Rickman and his grown son, played by Joshua Harnett, hasten the town barber shop and are estranged from their old-fashioned wife and mother, played by Natasha Richardson. The estrangement came about ten years previously, when she ran off with their hairdressing model, played by Rachel Griffiths, a woman with whom she quiet maintains a loving, romantic relationship and openly lives with as a couple. Rickman, feeling that he had not only been betrayed but made a laughingstock, has not forgiven her.

Unbeknownst to them all, Natasha is going to die, as she has lost the war with the cancer that she has been battling. When she discovers that the large hairdressing competition is coming to their town, she hopes for a last bit of glory and familial reconciliation. You study, when she ran off with Rachel Griffiths ten years prior, she did so on the eve of the hairdressing competition that they were all favored to net. Obviously, her actions squelched that prospect at the time. She hopes to form things suitable, now that the destroy is approach.

She finally persuades them with noteworthy anxiety to enter the competition, where Rickman encounters his ancient nemesis. Then, the bag of tricks launch to glide, all of which were done distinguished better in the movie “The Immense Tease”. The movie has a runt concern deciding whether to play it for laughs or for pathos. Ultimately, pathos wins, but not without the movie having suffered from some indecision on this front. Detached, Rickman, Richardson, and Griffiths are fantastic, as always, and the movie does have its worthwhile moments. It is a moderately luscious, though predictable, film of a family finally brought together in time of crisis. If it is a hairdressing competition film that you want, thought “The Large Tease” instead.

Buyer beware on this video, the spoken audio track does not always match up well with the video. In fact, some of the voices aged do not ever seem to be from the actor in the movie. Parts of the movie feel a poorly dubbed Godzilla movie. The represent quality of the movie is heavenly to helpful (but could be a lot better) . As an Audie Murphy fan, I could not regain this movie anywhere else so I had to accumulate it.

This film was canned in Europe (Spain) and hauntingly similar to the style residence by Sergio Leone in his Eastwood “Man with No Name” trilogy. The supporting actors are mostly Spanish except for the familiar figure of hide heavy Broderick Crawford. There is a blending of the Hollywood Westerns and the Italian Spaghettis in this one. The dubbing is so distinct (typical of spaghetties) but the storyline is easy to follow (typical of Hollywood westerns) . Murphy’s boyish looking demeanor is detached here but his age shows in this one. The protagoinists quiet dress decently and “cleanly” (typical of Hollywood) . The only reference to the slovenly atmosphere, dirt and perspiration stink (in Spaghetties) are the presence of flies stealing the scenes in some shots. The gunfire (whistling type of blast) and the Morricone type of music (done to nauseating extremes) definitley makes this a Spaghetti western with its worthy qualities. The distracting and dizzying closeup-shots of Italian spaghettis thankfully were not incorporated into this movie. If you have been accustomed to the Hollywood B westerns by Audie Murphy at Universal, this movie is quiet of similar mode, except that it has the spaghetti taste in it. This is a friendly movie for western fanatics who bask in the genre.

Right around the time of their release a couple years ago, I invested in Image’s series of five 9-Disc box sets that unruffled every Twilight Zone episode from the fresh ’59 series. From a collector’s standpoint, this seemed like a immense fade, as these sets turned out to be worthy more affordable than the previous releases, which were 45 individual volumes. I figured I had the collection and could sit aid and relax. I really enjoyed the sets (my reviews of them can be found here, as a matter of fact) and watched them ritually once I owned them.

In March 2004 when the rumors first hit that definitive season-by-season sets were to hit, I save my collection on e-bay and received almost all the money I invested in them in return. Yes, as a diehard TZ fan, I aid the definitive releases wholeheartedly. Fraction of being a DVD collector is vivid that upgrades are imminent. In fact, this may not be the last time I invest in the series… experts forsee Blu-ray coming into play within the next 5 years and a company like Image with no single film or TV property to their name bigger than The Twilight Zone may someday release these with HD transfers on Blu-ray disc. DVD, like a cheaper version of Laserdiscs, is ten times the collector’s format that VHS ever was.

In short, Image doesn’t examine everyone to upgrade. They’re not trying to bleed the same customers dry. But they are making a ton of the diehards and DVD collectors truly tickled. What hasn’t been mentioned in any of the reviews here yet is THAT THE VIDEO AND AUDIO HAVE GONE THROUGH A RESTORATION PROCESS — they Eye AND SOUND BETTER than they ever have before, whether your first exposure to them was on CBS in the early 60s, in the behind 70s (when the re-runs were very approved), or during the holiday marathons of the 90s and today on the Sci-Fi Channel. Not only that, but included are Rod Serling’s “Next week…” teasers and, for the first time, audio commentaries by major players in the episodes themselves as well as crew members (Martin Landau in “Mr. Denton…”, Earl Holliman in “Where is Everybody? “, and Kevin McCarthy in “Long Live Walter Jameson” immediately spring to mind) . As a TZ diehard, I understanding I’d seen and heard as worthy as I’d ever collect to, but Image has do together something modern for me to peep forward to. The “audio lecture” Amazon refers to is from Sherwood Oaks College and is split into several parts. There is a gargantuan deal of discussion regarding “Walking Distance” for instance — and we are able to listen to it while watching the episode at the same time. It runs nearly the entire length of the episode. Sincere treats also include Zicree’s interviews conducted in the slack 70s for the writing of his book with such stars as Burgess Meredith and Anne Francis.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Twilight Zone – Season 1! Click Here

Also — the traditional collections tried to theme the episodes on each disc, but this simply didn’t work for me. Too often I’d only want to witness one of the episodes on a disc and would have to frequently change out. With this location, we’ll be getting the first season which, in a point that is rarely disputed, is the best of the series:

Where Is Everybody?, One for the Angels, Mr. Denton on Doomsday, Sixteen Millimeter Shrine, Walking Distance, Speed Clause, The Lonely, Time Enough at Last, Perchance to Dream, Judgment Night, And When the Sky Was Opened, What You Need, The Four of Us Are Dying, Third from the Sun, I Shot an Arrow into the Air, The Hitch-Hiker, The Fever, The Last Flight, The Purple Testament, Elegy, Mirror Image, The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street, A World of Inequity, Long Live Walter Jameson, People Are Alike All Over, Execution, The Enormous Astronomical Wish, A Nice Situation to Visit, Nightmare as a Child, A Discontinuance at Willoughby, The Chaser, A Passage for Trumpet, Mr. Bevis, The After Hours, The Distinguished Casey, and A World of His Absorb.

So while Image doesn’t put a question to you to double dip, you gotta feel generous going brilliant you have that option someday. I don’t assume “corporate greed” factors into the equation as distinguished as customer question from fans like myself (as well as the logical necessity) for one of the best shows of all time to have an exhaustive and organized position of releases. Win care and we’ll gape you in the fifth dimension!

This modern DVD version of The Twilight Zone 1959 Season One is remastered from the unusual camera negatives and the recent magnetic soundtracks. It has the best characterize quality ever and is a spacious spot for fans.

This six disc status is packed with some amazing extras-

*Audio commentaries by Earl Holliman,Martin Landau,Rod Taylor,Martin Milner,Kevin McCarthy,Ted Post and William Self.

*Vintage audio recollections with Burgess Meredith,Douglas Heyes,Richard L Bare,Buck Houghton,Ann Francis and writer Richard Matheson.

*Rod Serling audio lectures from Sherwood Oaks College.

*Isolated music scores from Bernard Herrman,Jerry Goldsmith and more.

*Rod Serling promos from “next weeks indicate”.

*The recent unaired pilot from “Where Is Everybody? ” with Rod Serling’s Network pitch.

*Rare Rod Serling blooper.

Some information about the above audio commentaries- Ann Francis starred in the classic 1950′s movie “Forbidden Planet,Kevin McCarthy starred in the current 1950′s version of “The Thing”,Rod Taylor starred in the classic Hitchcock movie “The Birds” and the 1960 George Pal classic “The Time Machine”.

Martin Landau guest-starred in both the modern 1959 and 1985 versions of The Twilight Zone as well as the unique “Mission Impossible” and “Spot 1999″.

Writer Richard Matheson also wrote stories for both of the current and 1985 Twilight Zone series.

This classic television present has become piece of western culture and language. People now the term exhaust the term “in the Twilight Zone” for description in newspapers or interviews. It’s starting do-do-do-do theme has now become fragment of the culture and is old to denote something weird happening. The singing group Manhatten Transfer even had a top ten portray with the title.

One designate of criticism- this original version is a fantastic peril for a explain that is 45 years weak, but fans that have bought previous sets could be entitled to ask why this wasn’t done in the first site, some having spent many hundreds of dollars on the three previous releases. Firstly,we had the “best of” TZ 40 episode site followed by the 4 episode discs sets followed by the Volume 1 through to Vol 5 sets. And now we have this unique area. That is enough to test the patience of any fans and they have every suitable to complain at this sort of exploitation.

In a few years,I predict that a unique TZ place in high definition will be released.

So fans,if you want the definitive(we hope) DVD box spot on the fresh Twilight Zone, then sell your other copies and bewitch this.

It is really well done and hopefully fans can sustain this for many years to advance.

There’ve been some uncommonly brilliant peep films produced by British television: TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, See and SMILEY’S PEOPLE (both starring Sir Alec Guinness as the owlish George Smiley), and THE SANDBAGGERS miniseries. In all three, the agency enthusiastic is Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service (MI-6) . The operatives are a tweedy lot, and the headquarters, either at the former “Circus” or the more unique Century House, are, like the remains of Empire, comfortably shabby. Thus, it was with some misgivings that I began MI-5, the ongoing glitzy miniseries featuring the SIS’s less glamorous sister also known as the Security Service, which like America’s FBI, deals with domestic intelligence, anti-subversion and counter-terrorism. The glitz is of Hollywood proportions – almost, for me, an instant turn-off. I’m ecstatic I stuck with it.

Buy,Download, Or Stream MI-5, Volume 1! Click Here

The lead “spook” is Tom Quinn, played by Matthew MacFadyen. He runs an undercover operations team, the most prominent members of which are Zoe Reynolds (Keeley Hawes) and Danny Hunter (David Oyelowo) . The interior of MI-5′s London HQ, Thames House, is ultramodern and high tech; the CIA probably never had it so expedient. Tom’s boss is the hardboiled and sphinx-like Harry Pearce, played by Peter Firth.

Admittedly, I didn’t become engaged until episodes three and four, when I realized that the intricate scripts, fast-paced and tautly presented, transcended the glitz. I’m now crooked, and eagerly await the DVD release of the Season 2 episodes in slack 2004. My only remaining complaint is the too clever lead-in to each episode which requires excessive button-pushing on the remote to navigate. I mean, unprejudiced win on with it. Prince Charles will become King in a shorter time.

Buy,Download, Or Stream MI-5, Volume 1! Click Here

The storylines are contemporary: embassy take-overs by militant nationalists, insidious plots by Arab terrorists, illegal arms deals by enterprising Russians inviting Whitehall cabinet officers, and the occasional appearance of IRA bombers. Gone are the excellent aged days of KGB machinations on behalf of the Outrageous Empire. The episodes are slickly written with surprising situation twists. And MI-6 across the river maintains a scheming and patronizing presence.

Part of the show’s attraction is that it doesn’t paint its MI-5 heroes as perfect. They have relationship problems; they embezzle money from the Service; and perhaps have black secrets in the past that invite blackmail during intra-office power struggles. Why, it sounds like any company I’ve ever worked for!

The ruin of the last episode in Series 1 is one of the best I’ve ever seen. It’ll fabricate you reflect twice before installing that explain security system on your house, or at least effect you aware of the dangers posed by a diminutive child when catalyzed by chocolate icing.

When I played the first episode of MI-5, Volume 1, my heart sank farther and farther over the course of the next hour. The cinematography was weirdly cheery, the villains were completely without menace, and the main characters were confusing, vaguely characterized, and seem a diminutive too young for the genre of the present. After this episode, I was already thinking about how mighty I’d net when I send this DVD spot to a second-hand bin.

But as Episode 2 rolled along, it’s like the demonstrate woke up from slumber and began to whisk.

The comparisons to 24 are a miniature convenient — two espionage shows on two sides of the Atlantic, both surfacing around the crucial year of 2001? But if you go into MI-5 expecting the ferocious action, ruthless characters, endless treacheries and gritty camera work of 24, you’d probably be a puny disappointed. MI-5 doesn’t quite have the gut punch of 24 — few shows do — but what it does have is a very trustworthy cast, modern plotting, a quirky sense of humour, and an contemplate for detail for the minutiae of life in espionage. Also, because it’s not hurry to the real-time and L.A.-centric conceits of 24, MI-5 is actually broader in scope, dealing with Irish terrorists, Islam, race-motivated despise crimes, and European anarchists all within the first six episodes aloof here.

While I was initially skeptical of how babyfaced the actors looked, they point to to be very fair performers. According to the supplementary materials on the DVDs, half of the members of MI-5 in right life are under the age of 40, so in that respect, the casting would produce sense. Matthew MacFadyen, despite his soft eyes and boyish first-rate looks, can divulge intensity and resilience which convince us he could really be the second-in-command of this allotment of MI-5, Keeley Hawes drips with doe-eyed beauty and grand amusing timing, and David Oyelowo mixes mischief and determination nicely. The crowning member of the cast is Peter Firth as Harry Pearce, the inscrutable leader of the group; he conveys both the steely core of the character and the humanity.

I can’t fathom why the pilot, with its traditional, incoherent status exciting an anti-abortion terrorist with no sense of menace, was so unengaging. But aside from this one dud, the other five episodes are in resplendent, bewitching get. MI-5 has its section of nail-biting scenes, the most worthy of which is the wicked Episode 2 ending, which was so harrowingly intense that it probably trumps any shock scene ever delivered by 24 — no minute feat indeed. After that it’s a fantastic scuttle, culminating in an Episode Six with a thrillingly huge scope, brisk pacing, and another very satisfying suspense sequence as the final course. And throughout the episodes, the writers sustain a fervent notice towards the keen details of life as a “spook”, an added layer of fascination which gives the prove a modern character and brings us closer to what it’s like being an MI-5 agent.

Aside from the unsatisfying pilot, there are unbiased a few minor gripes: The DVD perform went nuts trying to be creative, but ends up with a earn that’s awkward to navigate as well as buggy — several buttons on the menu froze up my DVD player, and none of the main-menu items are marked. Please, next time, don’t sacrifice convenient access for style. They made a immense pains to include lots of bonus materials, but the cast/crew interviews are shallow and indolent in traipse (more editing please), making all the actors seem sleepy and unfocused. And since this dwelling is only six episodes long, the overall arc of the episodes will seem a lot less satisfying than a full-on season. However, these shows remain a stout introduction to a expose that carries all the thrills of the espionage genre, while giving it a new trudge.

‘fear(s) of the dark’ really is a classy production all around, belonging to the school of fright that sinks into your mind and messes with your perceptions of the neat sunlit world, as opposed to the less introspective hack-and-slash, gore-for-gore’s-sake movies that are more likely to plant butts in theatre seats.

beautifully engaging in shaded and white, each segment represents the work and style of a different animator, each of whom is probably better known as a cartoonist. the variety of styles represented is very ravishing to the eye; each very different from the last, yet meshing together rather than working against each other. thematically, each segment deals with dismay on a very intimate, very personal level: isolation, persecution, struggle, invasion, betrayal. where does the loyal ‘dark’ commence and our perception of it waste? i’ll be thinking this one over for a while – with the lights on.

having read the other review (at this time, there is only one) on amazon, i’ll admit i was puzzled: isn’t this honest a fright movie? what’s with the politicking? fortunately, that reviewer had no understanding what he or she was talking about. this is, to my eyes, an agenda-free film, and hooray for that.

it seems unlikely, in this age of unlimited ‘saw’ sequels, prequels and knockoffs, that a movie like this could ever be accepted for any kind of funding. i’m awfully blissful it did, though – it’s a keeper.

Not being released yet due to its controversial subject matter and the fact our government unexcited considers France’s going against U.S. policy traitorous to our goals in the Middle East, this movie portrays the difficulties of the French people in trying to adjust to the every changing political climate of the world. An animation by 5 world illustrious French cartoonist. The same subject matter is not censored for American film makers for instance “Lord of Wars” has not been censored. Political cartoonists have never been sanctioned by a ruling party in any country that I know of and classical novels such as “Catcher in the Rye”, “Farewell to Arms”. “1984″, “The Grapes of Wrath”, “Gone With the Wind” were all banned at one time in the U.S. I deem myself fortunate to have been able to rent a copy and hope others will check it out. It depicts how our fears construct us prisoners. It sends an wonderful message which hits home with almost everyone.
